Professor Dai Yonghong and his delegation were invited to visit and conduct research at Shenzhen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics Co., Ltd.

In the afternoon of June 11, 2024, in order to expand student employment opportunities, Professor Dai Yonghong, Dean and Distinguished Professor of the Institute of Regional Countries and International Communication and the School of Foreign Languages at Shenzhen University, led teachers and students from both institutions on a visit to Shenzhen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics Co., Ltd. for a field study and research activity. Participants in this research visit included: Professor Dai Yonghong, Dean and Distinguished Professor of the Institute of Regional Countries and International Communication and the School of Foreign Languages at Shenzhen University; Li Xiaobing, Assistant Researcher at the Institute of Culture, Shenzhen Academy of Social Sciences; postdoctoral researchers Fu Le and Zhou Yupeng from the School of Foreign Languages, Shenzhen University; as well as graduate and doctoral students from the School of Communication, School of Foreign Languages, School of Economics, and School of Government Management at Shenzhen University.   


Under the personal guidance of Wang Jili, Director of International Public Affairs at Mindray Medical, Professor Dai and his delegation first immersed themselves in the company's exhibition hall. Through meticulous tours and explanations, they gained a preliminary yet comprehensive understanding of Mindray Medical's industrial layout and international communication strategies. During the subsequent exchange and discussion session, Professor Dai elaborated on the overview of the relevant colleges and research institutions at Shenzhen University,特别强调 the development goals and research directions of the Institute of Regional Countries and International Communication at Shenzhen University, which serves as the Chinese council member of the BRICS Think Tank Cooperation Network under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a key research base for humanities and social sciences in Guangdong Province. Professor Dai emphasized that in the current rapidly changing global landscape, exploring new paths to effectively tell the stories of China, cities, and even enterprises, and precisely implementing international communication strategies tailored to the characteristics of different countries, are crucial for overcoming "bottleneck" issues. He was deeply moved by Mindray Medical's glorious history spanning 33 years since its establishment in 1991 and its achievements as a benchmark for private enterprises, and felt proud of its extensive cooperation with more than 190 countries worldwide. At the same time, Professor Dai expressed sincere congratulations to Mindray Medical and hoped that more excellent cases of Chinese private enterprises would reach the world stage in the future, conveying the voice of China.


                                   


Zhang Min, Manager of the Brand Department at Mindray Medical, vividly portrayed the company's brand story from the perspectives of its historical evolution and global vision. She introduced that Mindray Medical aspires to become a core force in safeguarding global health, dedicated to the popularization of high-end technology so that more people can enjoy high-quality medical care. By reviewing milestone events such as the company's establishment, overseas listing, brand upgrading, and major acquisitions, Ms. Zhang demonstrated Mindray Medical's ever-increasing international influence, particularly its leap to the 27th position among global medical device suppliers in 2023, with the prospect of advancing to the top 20 in the coming years. In various segments, Mindray Medical ranks among the top two globally. Mindray Medical adheres to a sustainable development path driven by innovation and actively promotes the deep integration of globalization and localization, such as building bridges for international academic exchanges and strengthening industry-academia-research-medicine cooperation, in order to showcase its unique brand charm and corporate responsibility in the narrative of globalization.

       

During the discussion session, both parties engaged in a lively and fruitful dialogue on Mindray Medical's cross-border communication strategies. Representatives from Shenzhen University and the Mindray Medical team exchanged ideas and inspired each other in an active academic and practical exchange atmosphere, gaining much from the interaction.


                            

As the research visit drew to a close, Professor Dai once again expressed sincere gratitude to Mindray Medical, praising their enthusiastic reception and open communication as a model in the Chinese medical industry, and highly evaluating their close collaboration in brand building, academic talent cultivation, and knowledge dissemination. Mr. Wang also expressed that Mindray Medical warmly welcomes outstanding graduates from the Foreign Languages College of Shenzhen University to actively apply for positions at its overseas branches worldwide. Both parties shared the expectation of further deepening cooperation in the future, working together to promote the internationalization of Chinese enterprises, and jointly building a brilliant future.
