
Prof. Renwei Huang from Fudan University Visits Deep Bay Forum
On the morning of July 10, 2022, Professor Huang Renwei, Distinguished Professor of Fudan University, Executive Director of the Belt and Road and Global Governance Research Institute, former Vice President of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Honorary President of the American Society in Shanghai, and member of the Academic Committee of the Institute of Regional Countries and International Communication of Shenzhen University, visited Shenzhen University and gave a lecture titled “World Economic and Political Trends and China's Countermeasures after the Russia-Ukraine Conflict” to students and faculty members of the School of Foreign Languages, the Institute of Regional Countries and International Communication of Shenzhen University. H6-304, Huiwen Building, Yuehai Campus, to give a lecture entitled “World Economic and Political Trends and China's Countermeasures after the Russia-Ukraine Conflict” to the teachers and students of the School of Foreign Languages, the Institute of Regional and National Studies and the Institute of International Communication. The forum was hosted by Prof. Dai Yonghong, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Director of the Institute of Regional and National Studies and International Communication, and Director of the Research Center for China's Overseas Interests.
Through the perspective of geopolitical economy and great power games, Prof. Huang Renwei made a brilliant discussion on NATO's eastward expansion and globalization, shortage of international energy supply, Russia's economic and social development as well as strategic cooperation between Europe and the United States, and made the latest outlook of the world's political and economic situation.
After the lecture, Dean Dai Yonghong made a wonderful comment. In the subsequent interactive session, Prof. Huang Renwei answered questions from SZU students and faculty on the intrinsic motivation of Europe's participation in the U.S. sanctions against Russia, the comparison between U.S. party politics and the dominant ideology, and the negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine.
The “Deep Bay Forum” is personally planned by the leadership of Shenzhen University and jointly organized by the School of Foreign Languages, the Institute of Regional and International Communication, and the Research Center for China's Overseas Interests, with the aim of strengthening the academic research in the field of regional and international communication, and cultivating international composite talents.
